A designated buddy does not replace the manager, but it will significantly speed up adaptation and reduce stress. <\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:clamp(0.875rem, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 0.2rem) * 0.531), 1.2rem);\" id=\"how-to-set-up-the-buddy-system\"><strong>How to set up the buddy system<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li style=\"padding-bottom:0\">the buddy has clearly defined tasks (first day, first week, first month)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"padding-bottom:0\">has time on his calendar and knows what is expected of him<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"padding-bottom:0\">has a mini checklist ready: &#8216;attitudes, team, routines, culture&#8217;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">Follows up on check-in with supervisor (buddy \u2260 performance evaluation)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\n    <em><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0,0,0,0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-custom-sfp-light-orange-color\">Practice Tip:<\/mark><\/em> The buddy system works best when it doesn&#8217;t become an &#8220;invisible duty&#8221;.
